Core Marketplace Policies

The foundational agreements that govern every transaction on Crafters Market.

Terms of Service

v2.6 · 2026-06-30

The foundational contract between every User and Crafters Market. Governs eligibility, accounts, fees, prohibited uses, moderation, disclaimers, liability, disputes, AI use, dispute resolution, and electronic signatures.

Privacy Policy

v3.4 · 2026-06-30

How Crafters Market collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information across Buyer, Maker, and visitor interactions — including our Creator-Owned AI Policy, California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA), and the current Third-Party Service Providers vendor inventory.

Cookie Policy

v3.0 · 2026-06-30

What cookies and similar technologies Crafters Market uses, why, and how you can control them.

Maker Agreement

v3.6 · 2026-06-30

The seller contract between each Maker and Crafters Market. Covers eligibility, listings, IP, AI, fees, Stripe payouts (with limited payout-hold triggers), privacy roles, FTC compliance for reviews and product claims, exclusivity, moderation, appeals, termination, dispute resolution (mirrors Terms §12), survival, and electronic signatures.

Buyer Protection Policy

v1.1 · 2026-06-30

When and how Crafters Market steps in to protect Buyers if an Order does not arrive, arrives significantly not as described, or a Maker becomes unresponsive.

Returns & Refunds Policy

v3.4 · 2026-06-30

How returns, exchanges, and refunds work on Crafters Market. Sets marketplace floors (Shop Policies cannot override the Buyer Protection Policy) and defines when Marketplace Assistance applies.

Shipping & Logistics Policy

v3.1 · 2026-06-30

How shipping works on Crafters Market. Makers ship their own Orders; the Platform is not a carrier, warehouse, or fulfillment company.

Prohibited Items Policy

v3.3 · 2026-06-30

What may not be sold on Crafters Market. Categories are original to Crafters Market and reflect our curated-marketplace values.

Community Guidelines

v3.1 · 2026-06-30

Conduct standards for messaging, reviews, journals, and community spaces on Crafters Market. Includes FTC-aligned rules for review authenticity and endorsement disclosure.

Operational Policies

Topic-specific policies covering IP enforcement, fees, and appeals.

Trust Center Documents

Plain-English values and summary documents. The full policies above control if there's a conflict.

◆ Policy Hierarchy · Order of Precedence
  1. 1.Applicable Law — Federal, state, and local law of the jurisdiction where the User resides or where the Order is fulfilled. Non-waivable consumer-protection rights always govern.
  2. 2.Terms of Service — The foundational contract between every User and the Platform.
  3. 3.Maker Agreement (seller-specific issues only) — For issues relating to Maker activity (listings, payouts, seller conduct, seller-side IP, exclusivity, taxes), the Maker Agreement is more specific than the topic-level Marketplace Policies and controls within its subject-matter scope. For non-seller (Buyer or general) issues, the Marketplace Policies control.
  4. 4.Marketplace Policies — Topic-specific policies: Buyer Protection, Returns & Refunds, Shipping & Logistics, Privacy, Cookies, Prohibited Items, Community Guidelines, Intellectual Property & DMCA, Fee & Pricing, Accessibility Statement.
  5. 5.Maker Shop Policies — A Maker's own published Shop Policies for their Listings. Must not conflict with anything above; conflicts are unenforceable to the extent of the conflict.
  6. 6.Order-Specific Agreements — Terms agreed to at checkout or in messaging for a specific Order (e.g., custom order specifications, agreed processing time). Bind only that Order.
◆ Shared Terminology Glossary

Every Crafters Market policy uses these terms consistently.

  • Maker — An independent creator who lists items on Crafters Market. A Maker is the seller of record for their own Orders. Preferred over 'vendor,' 'merchant,' 'seller,' or 'creator.'
  • Buyer — A person who purchases (or attempts to purchase) an item on Crafters Market. Buyers contract directly with the Maker for each Order.
  • Platform — Crafters Market, the curated multi-vendor marketplace operated by Crafters Market. Includes the website, apps, APIs, and connected surfaces (Google Merchant, Meta, Pinterest, TikTok, etc.).
  • Listing — A published item offered for sale by a Maker on the Platform, including its title, description, photos, price, variants, processing time, shipping options, and Shop Policies.
  • Order — A completed purchase transaction between a Buyer and a Maker, processed through the Platform's checkout and payment systems.
  • Shop Policies — A Maker's own published policies for their Listings (returns, exchanges, cancellations, processing times, custom orders, digital downloads). Sit below the marketplace policies in the hierarchy.
  • User Content — Any content uploaded, posted, or transmitted through the Platform by a Maker or Buyer, including Listing photos, descriptions, journal posts, messages, reviews, and community showcase submissions.
  • Digital Product — A Listing delivered electronically (e.g., SVG files, patterns, PDFs, digital downloads) rather than physically shipped.
  • Custom Order — A Listing customized to a Buyer's specifications after purchase (personalization, sizing, materials, dedications, made-to-order work).
  • Marketplace Assistance — The Platform's role in mediating a dispute between a Buyer and a Maker under the Buyer Protection Policy, including issuing marketplace-funded refunds where appropriate.
  • Verified Maker — A Maker who has completed identity verification, Stripe onboarding, and passed the Platform's Seller Verification process.
  • Founding Access / Founding Seller — Version 1 of Crafters Market. Founding participants receive early-adopter benefits described on the site.
