[FOUNDING SELLER BETA] I am a fashion waste reduction advocate. I buy back brand new sample fabric from global fashion brands and their manufacturers for handmade products since 2016 when I was still living in HK. Back then, I had a team of unemployed housewives and retired people to help producing handkerchiefs, tote, Furoshiki and etc to promote green living and giving them incomes to improve their living (you can check out my previous project IG: @thechiefproject for more details). I moved to the USA in 2021 and many of those fabric stock I had was shipped together here as I didn’t want to discard them (although I had to give away a lot to the community there, I still retained quite some of those). Then I started to resume my handmade project by myself and started this @phoenixbybird branding. Besides fabric products, I fell in love with crocheting and painting after moving here. That’s why I have included crochet products in my brand too. For paintings, it is something new that I developed in these few years. I never knew I could paint until I started my first painting for my first cat in life. After joining Art Collaborations in IG to paint with artists from around the world, I am more confident to present my painting in postcards or greeting cards form to the community.
